I've posted the Xterra Tahoe City race report.

6/23

Hello!

Last week was a down week for me as I focused on rest and recovery after the Xterra Northwest Champ's and Boise 70.3, keeping the training light. On Saturday, June 20th, I drove up to Tahoe to pre ride the Tahoe City Xterra course and also got in a swim in the lake. The water temperature is really good - felt like the low 60's thank God ;) After the down week I felt good and had a fun time out there!
This week I've bumped up the intensity to wake up the system and so far so good. On Friday afternoon I'll be heading up to Tahoe to pick up my race packet and
will be racing on Saturday. Stay tuned for the race report!

Thanks for checking in!

Jeff

I've posted the Ironman 70.3 Boise race report.

6/12

I drove down from Coeur d'Alene to Boise yesterday, ugh another long day on the road. When I arrived I checked in at my hotel and drove to downtown Boise to pick up my race packet and on the way back to my hotel found an awesome pizza place, Flying Pie Pizzaria... good stuff! This morning I'm heading out for a run and then up to Lucky Peak Reservoir for a short swim and ride.
Stay tuned for the race report!

Thanks for checking in!

The Xterra Northwest Cup Report is up!

6/7

Hey there!

Just a quick update, yesterday I qualified for the Xterra World Championships in Maui at the Xterra Northwest Cup in Athol, Idaho! I took second in my age group, my best finish at a Cup/Championship Xterra! Stay tuned for the race report.

Hello!

Yesterday at 5:30 am I left Roseville and 850 miles & 13 1/2 hours later arrived in  Coeur d'Alene for the Xterra Northwest Cup. That was the longest drive I've ever done but well worth the effort of getting into beautiful Idaho! My gracious hosts are a couple of friends that used to live in Folsom, Corey & Michelle Haustein, and they are letting me stay with them for the next week before I head down to Boise for the Ironman 70.3. In '04 Corey crewed for me at Furnace Creek 508!

Stay tuned for the race reports!

Thanks for checking in!

Hey there!

Tuesday night I headed out for one of our local (road bike) time trial training races and had a blast! I arrived around 5 pm to warm up for the 6 pm start and got in an out and back on the TT course. A little after 6 I was off and having never done one of these before tried to find a comfortable state of uncomfortable-ity and sure enough in the first 2 1/2 miles almost threw up but kept my head down and just kept turning over the pedals as my body and mind were screaming at me to knock it off... ouch! I managed a sprint at the finish and crossed the line in 24:03 min over the 10 mile course, good enough for 3rd in my age group and 8th overall. I'm definitely addicted now and am looking forward to hitting up a few more of these over the summer to chip away at my time and improve my time trialing skills!

Thanks for checking in!

Hello!

This past weekend I headed up to Lake Tahoe for a loop around the Lake on my time trial bike to get some time on it before the Ironman 70.3 Boise next month and had a great day. I got rolled into Tahoe at 10 am and gave my friend Elisa a massage before heading out for the ride. Before I left she asked me how long it would take and I said for my first ride around the Lake this year and riding at altitude that 3:15 hrs. would be great and I ended up throwing down a 3:18! Then on Sunday I did a 10 mile run and an open water swim.
This week I'm doing my first ever time trial and am excited to see what it's all about, also it'll give me some more time on the TT bike to get it totally dialed in.
I'm also stoked to be riding the Death Ride again this year! I blew it earlier this year by not getting my ticket for the ride, which sells out the day registration opens, so I started checking Ebay, Graig's List and the Death Ride message board and then today I lucked out and got in... thanks f
or the ticket George!!!

Thanks for checking in!

Hey there!

Last week I got in some solid training and it looks like my system is moving back to normal. My resting heart rate has stabilized and I've been getting better sleep, so I'm hoping that the funk I was in throughout April is behind me as I prepare for racing in June.
On Sunday I did an epic training loop, riding 69 miles and climbing 9800 feet! I checked my times from earlier this year and took off 14 minutes from my last time on this ride!

Thanks for checking in!

I spent last weekend in Las Vegas for the XTERRA West Cup race and had a good time with friends but a rough one at the race - check out the report.
This week I'm taking the training easy as I prepare for another race this weekend at Lake Del Valle in the East Bay near San Francisco. I'll be heading down Friday morning for a pre-ride and will also get a chance to stay with my cousin and her family down the road from the venue in Pleasenton. I'm looking forward to a chance to redeem myself this weekend ;0)

Thanks for checking in!
